New York Board of Trade: Exchange Floor Relocation

BTP was the leading consulting firm responsible for day-to-day IT project management for all technology disciplines involved in the project. BTP designed all technology spaces, including both traditional and wireless LAN, market data, audiovisual and videoconferencing, speech reinforcement, circuit provisioning, trading turrets and a new VoIP Network. After move in, BTP supported all moves, adds and changes resulting from the relocation to One North End Avenue, first performing capacity analyses of various voice and LAN/WAN infrastructure components to ensure their ability to accommodate new configurations and additional users.

City of Jersey City, NJ: IT Infrastructure Assessment

BTP was responsible for a comprehensive IT infrastructure assessment for all City systems supporting over 800 users in 12 office locations. Disciplines included LAN/WAN, physical infrastructure, network security, network operating system, e-mail and messaging, and e-government. BTP was responsible for integrating all disciplines into a holistic IT infrastructure strategy and developed a detailed implementation roadmap, equipment lists, technical designs and associated budgets.

Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center

Commack, NY Ambulatory Care Facility & Data Center Expansion

Project included out-of-the-ground construction of an outpatient facility in Commack, New York.  Carrier services were provided from multiple entrances, including new underground conduit construction as well as aerial services.  BTP designed the structured cable plant for voice, data, and video distribution to exam and treatment rooms.  Having been brought into the project after the A-MEP design phase was complete, BTP worked with the construction team to revise designs and layouts of technology room in the field to accommodate the necessary equipment and riser facilities.  BTP also managed the delivery and implementation of the carrier, voice and data systems throughout the construction.

For the Data Centers in New York City and Secaucus, NJ, BTP was called upon to design new MDFs, distribution pathways and inter-cabinet cabling for a 20 cabinet expansion. The MDF design included upgrading and supplementing existing inter-cabinet cabling as well as special considerations for a segregated network for back-ups and storage. BTP worked closely with the installation contractor on-site to support the implementation and provide immediate conflict resolution. BTP also developed a Telecommunications Infrastructure Standards Document for the Information Services Group to be distributed to MSKCC facilities and construction teams for future build-out, relocation, and expansion projects.

Higher Education

CUNY – Medgar Evers College: Academic Building/ Campus Technology Plan

Medgar Evers College, part of the City University of New York (CUNY) system, planned to construct a new Academic Building on their campus. This building was designed to house a new Data Center to support not only this building, but eventually the entire campus. The Academic Building contained “intelligent” classrooms including distance learning, videoconferencing, wireless data networking, and other cutting edge technologies and applications. BTP’s various roles on this project include: structured cable plant design services, construction administration, Data Center space and migration planning, Data Center design, voice systems design, network systems design, desktop and peripheral specifications and procurement, and Campus-wide telecommunications connectivity design. As of October 2005 this project is on-hold by the client.

Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel LLP: Corporate Relocation

BTP was the lead technology consultant for the new headquarters facility at 1177 Avenue of the Americas. BTP was responsible for the design of all IT infrastructure systems including Cable Plant, LAN/WAN, Telecommunications and Physical Security Systems. The project involved the build out of 12 tenant floors, a new data center, a conference center and large multipurpose room as well as the relocation of over 800 personnel. Each floor includes a single technology room and a new riser system designed to support carrier services to the data center and LAN to non-contiguous floors. All existing data center systems were completely migrated to the new facility and new desktop equipment was deployed prior to the relocation of any users. During the interim period between data center and user moves, Kramer Levin’s two existing NY facilities operated as “thin” buildings supported entirely by the new data center.

PRIMEDIA, Inc.: 1440 Broadway Relocation Project

BTP provided technology design, build out and move coordination for the relocation of PRIMEDIA’s New York City offices into a new facility at 1440 Broadway, New York, NY. The relocation effort involved the consolidation of several existing computer facilities into one data center. BTP was responsible for the audit, needs analysis, telecommunications design, security systems design, coordination, contractor/product selection and procurement as well as oversight management of the final relocation and telecommunications work. During the course of the project, BTP developed new national PRIMEDIA corporate standards for voice and data telecommunications, audiovisual and security systems.

Professional Services

Eisner LLP: Corporate Relocation & Desktop Deployment

  • BTP Role: Windows 2000 ADS & MS Exchange Deployment, SAN Design & Integration, Desktop Migration

BTP was responsible for the establishment of a new ADS schema for Eisner LLP and the migration of all client/server technology to their newly appointed New York Headquarters facility. In addition, BTP designed and integrated the new storage area networks and deployed migrated the email systems to MS Exchange 2000. At the end of the project, BTP also provided cutover support and desktop migration services.
