NYC Reach Selects BTP as a Preferred IT Vendor
August 11, 2010 - New York, NY - Business Technology Partners (BTP), a premier technology consulting firm and IT support provider, today announced its selection as a preferred IT vendor for the NYC REACH Program. NYC REACH is the designated Regional Extension Center for New York City, chosen by the federal government to help physicians adopt Electronic Health Records and meaningfully use them to improve health outcomes. A collaboration between the NYC Health Department's Primary Care Information Project and the Fund for Public Health in New York, NYC REACH offers implementation services for three EHR systems and post-go live support for an even wider selection.
According to NYC REACH, BTP - one of seven vendors selected as a preferred IT Vendor - demonstrated its superior value across three core categories:
Technology: Capacity to guide selection and implementation of EHR systems, allowing providers to meet Meaningful Use criteria;
Cost: Ability to provide superior service at competitive pricing;
Service: Established track record of providing great customer service and technical support based upon positive feedback from existing BTP clients as compared to its competition.
Upon the passage of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (also known as the "Stimulus Bill”), the Federal Government set aside over $30 billion in incentives to encourage American doctors to convert traditional paper records to electronic format across their practices, increasing the efficiency of healthcare delivery to patients and decreasing the cost of care and insurance for patients and providers, while modernizing the United States' healthcare system.
BTP is a trusted provider of technology systems and support that can help doctors offices evaluate, select and implement an appropriate CCHIT Certified EHR/PM solution for their practices. In addition, BTP can help with Medicare & Medicaid Incentive Payments, including assistance with the application and qualification process to obtain incentive payments at $44,000 or $67,750 respectively from Medicare or Medicaid. Overall, BTP can improve the operations of doctors' offices and can ensure that offices meet or exceed all of the requirements for “meaningful use” under the CMS guidelines.
“We are very pleased that NYC REACH chose BTP as one of its technology vendors. We're confident that our team will help New York's doctors implement EHR solutions that work, qualify their practices for incentive payments, receive timely payments for services rendered and help them increase their bottom line,” said Joshua Aaron, President of Business Technology Partners.
“It's important for practices to engage with an IT consultant to help them care for their hardware, software, and infrastructure. We believe patient health information must be protected through policies and procedures, along with routine maintenance of the network. Medical school didn't train physicians to do this work, which is why we require them to choose qualified professionals like those at BTP,” said Dr. Amanda Parsons, Assistant Commissioner of the Primary Care Information Project and head of NYC REACH.
