BTP to Offer IT Support to NYC REACH in its Efforts to Create Paperless Healthcare Sector
By Madhubanti Rudra
Electronic health records can go a long way to help physicians take timely decision to provide better health care services to the patients. NYC REACH was created to this end. It is the designated Regional Extension Center for New York City, chosen by the federal government to help physicians adopt Electronic Health Records and meaningfully use them to improve health outcomes. NYC REACH has recently selected Business Technology Partners as one of the seven preferred IT vendors for its programs. BTP is a premier technology consulting firm and IT support provider, which caters to a diverse clientele in the healthcare, hospitality, financial services and legal industries.
Collaboration between the NYC Health Department's Primary Care Information Project and the Fund for Public Health in New York, NYC REACH offers implementation services for three EHR systems and post-go live support for an even wider selection. An offspring of Federal Government's “Stimulus Bill”, the project is to utilize a part of $30 billion in funding that has been set aside to encourage American doctors to convert traditional paper records to electronic format across their practices. The initiative is expected to modernize the United States' healthcare system by increasing the efficiency of healthcare delivery to patients and decreasing the cost of care and insurance for patients and providers.
“It's important for practices to engage with an IT consultant to help them care for their hardware, software, and infrastructure. We believe patient health information must be protected through policies and procedures, along with routine maintenance of the network. Medical school didn't train physicians to do this work, which is why we require them to choose qualified professionals like those at BTP,” Dr. Amanda Parsons, assistant commissioner of the Primary Care Information Project and head of NYC REACH, said.
NYC REACH informed that BTP was selected for its superiority across three core categories---technology, cost and services.
According to NYC REACH, BTP demonstrated a capacity to guide selection and implementation of EHR systems, allowing providers to meet Meaningful Use criteria. Then, BTP
has proven track record of providing great customer service and technical support based upon positive feedback from existing BTP clients as compared to its competition. And all these are offered at the competitive price.
BTP's technology is to help doctors offices evaluate, select and implement an appropriate CCHIT Certified EHR/PM solution for their practices. In addition, BTP can help with Medicare & Medicaid Incentive Payments, including assistance with the application and qualification process to obtain incentive payments at $44,000 or $67,750 respectively from Medicare or Medicaid. Overall, BTP can improve the operations of doctors' offices and can ensure that offices meet or exceed all of the requirements for “meaningful use” under the CMS guidelines.
“We are very pleased that NYC REACH chose BTP as one of its technology vendors. We're confident that our team will help New York's doctors implement EHR solutions that work, qualify their practices for incentive payments, receive timely payments for services rendered and help them increase their bottom line,” Joshua Aaron, president of Business Technology Partners, said.
